Dear Golfer,
On June 4, 2010, the Disabled American Veterans is hosting our second annual Corporate Golf Invitational. This year the title sponsor is LIBERTY MUTUAL. We embrace the partnership with LIBERTY MUTUAL and their support. Beginning in 2010, LIBERTY MUTUAL has assumed title sponsorship of the nationwide golf tournament program previously known as the Cadillac Invitational, the largest corporately sponsored amateur charity golf event in the world. The program, now called THE LIBERTY MUTUAL INVITATIONAL, consists of 72 local events, each benefiting a charitable organization. In addition to LIBERTY MUTUAL, the event is sponsored nationally by TaylorMade/adidas, Polaroid, Sports Vision Eyewear, Golf Digest and Pinehurst Resort.
Entering its 23rd season, the LIBERTY MUTUAL Invitational program has raised over $130 million for charity. The winning team from each local event earns an invitation to the LIBERTY MUTUAL INVITATIONAL NATIONAL FINALS at Pinehurst, March 10-14, 2011, to compete for the national championship
On June 4, 2010, we are hosting our tournament at Blue Hill Country Club in Canton, Massachusetts at 23 Pecunit Street. Blue Hill is a member owned, private country club. It is blessed with 27 holes of Championship golf. The main course was designed in 1925 by Eugene “Skip” Wogan, one of golf’s premier course architects of the Classic Period. In 1961 Mr. Wogan’s son, Paul Wogan designed the 9-hole Challenger Course. This course had the distinct honor of hosting the Ping/Welch stop on the LPGA Tour. The course rating is 72 and boasts 6,563 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par 72.
This Disabled American Veterans is grateful for the support it received last year from our sponsors and of course those of you who played. For our first endeavor of this sort, we learned much and with our partnership with Neil Policow of LeaderBoard Boston. This year we anticipate an even more successful tournament. If you are desire to reserve a spot this year, the cost will be $1,600.00 per team. Each team will have the option of hosting a celebrity. Our opening ceremonies this year promise to be more impressive with a tee off at 11:00 a.m. After a day of golf it will be followed by a banquet, prize presentations, auction and entertainment at the Blue Hill Country Club banquet facility. If you desire to have a guest for the evening festivities, a donation of $100.00 per person would be appreciated. Please make your reservations for golf and dinner early. We are limiting our teams to 32 and evening dinner and festivities to 350.
